EDIT- waited until they reopened and then they didn’t have detergent, luckily someone let us borrow some! After waiting for around 2 hours the dryer just kept turning off even though the clothes weren’t fully dry. If possible go somewhere else

They say 24 hours but really they close from 2-6pm and you can not get laundry detergent when they aren’t there. If you have your own it wouldn’t be an issue though. They have an area to sit and wait and there is a fun cafe, bar, and hostel next door as well.

The posted photos are accurate. However, it may be a bit confusing once you get there. It is important to clarify this is hang out post for campers with a community kitchen, bathrooms, living space and dining area. The laundry area is in the adjacent room to the right when you access the facility. It was a it confusing for us because there was no attendant at the time. You pay with CC at the machine and use the washer and dryer. No machine communicates with anything it’s the honor system. I would advise bring your own detergent in the event the reception is closed as you get free detergent from them when open.
It may take a second to figure out how they work, but they do. Dryers take their sweet time. We had to have them run a couple of times to get all clothes dry.
Por-tip: Visit the restaurant/coffee shop next door while you wait. It’s very nice and cozy. They have great coffee too. Or go to Bonus to restock on supples. We got chocolate-dipped ice cream at the gas station as well.
Also, make sure to stop by around 3PM when it is the least busy.
1,000 for washer and 1,000 ISK for dryer per load. Parking right in front.

Une des rares laveries sur notre route en Islande.
Comptez 20 minutes en cycle très court jusqu’à 2-3h pour un cycle de lavage normal (ce ne sont pas des machines professionnelles). J’ai utilisé les machines 1 et 2 qui ont essoré normalement. Toutefois comptez 2h de sèche-linge (voire plus si vous prenez le cycle long!)
1000 ISK par machine (à laver ou sèche linge). Lessive fournie. Comptoir ouvert jusqu’à 23h pour le paiement, les machines restent ouvertes 24/24.

This is a great place to wash and dry your clothes. I’ve struggled to find many places with more than 2 washing/drying machines, but here has 5 washing machines and 5 drying machines. They get the job done, although could be better and more efficient. You pay the reception 1,000kr. It’s the honor system if the reception has no one there.

Ottimissimo posto per lavare e asciugare i panni durante un viaggio lungo la ring road.

Mentre si aspettano gli indumenti, consiglio una birra nel pub adiacente.

Sono presenti 6 macchine lavatrici e 3 asciugatrici. Sono macchine consumer e non professionali da lavanderia, quindi impiegano un po' di tempo per lavorare.

I would reinforce the fact that you need coins for the machines. I took out some cash from an ATM earlier and then changed for coins at the reception. As Madison said, keep in mind reception closes at 11pm. I saw people getting later to wash their clothes but had no coins

Keep in mind it’s now high season. So lots of people washing their clothes. I was lucky to find a machine available. Also the dryers were not working properly so clothes took a long time to dry

It all worked out for me but it took a long time. That’s why I’m giving just 3 stars

Mala experiencia. Tienen 5 lavadoras y 4 secadoras. De las 5 lavadoras hay 3 que no centrifugan bien. Las otras 2 perfectas. Las secadoras muy lentas y poco efectivas. Hay 1 que no la pude probar que era la más nueva. Pero vaya mala experiencia.
Después de 4 horas allí para lavar y secar me fui con la ropa todavía demasiado húmeda. Sobretodo la de las lavadoras que sale la ropa mojada porque no centrifuga bien.
Como detalle las lavadora buenas son las 1 y 2.
