Hjartarstaðir Guesthouse was clean and sufficed for our short overnight stay, but I think the experience is different for a party of four versus a party of two or three.

The location is isolated and peaceful. The kitchenette was fitted out with enough conveniences—a fridge, pots and pans and various dinnerware. However, it would’ve been nice to have a microwave and a roll of paper towel.

There were some shortcomings, unfortunately. Three out of the four beds were comfortable, while the extra third bed in the bedroom was lumpy. Yours truly drew the short straw and got springs digging into her back. Surprisingly, the sofa bed was better, as it had a mattress topper.

I felt that it was pushing it to fit four people and their luggage in the room, especially with the sofa bed pulled out. There was also hardly any place to hang your clothes and only three coat hangers were provided for the four of us.

Moreover, we didn’t like the shower design, as water would splash out due to the lack of an actual shower stall; the shower floor was continuous with the floor of the bathroom and there was no kind of divider aside from the shower curtain. If you’ve got four people using the bathroom, it can get pretty wet.

Despite these inconveniences, our stay was fine. We could cope for one night, though I think it’d be an annoyance for an extended stay. Smaller parties would probably feel more comfortable.

Nessuna cosa degna di nota però tutto comunque di un buon livello. Cucina  piccola ovviamente, ma completa di tutto. Una piastra a induzione, stoviglie, un tavolino piccolo con 2 sedie. 2 letti singoli separati con comodino. 2 pouff per poggiarci le valigie |Niente di negativo da menzionare. Se proprio vogliamo aggiungere qualcosa check- out, un po' presto( ore 10) Ma per noi non è stato un problema.

Cottage bellissimo sperduto nelle campagne, con vista da sogno dalla finestra.
Camera pulita e moderna, cucina completa di tutto.
Self checkin così non c'era nemmeno problema di orario di arrivo.
Prezzo leggermente più basso della media.

Check in: effettuato in autonomia e in maniera semplice
Ambiente: struttura nuova, molto calda con riscaldamento tramite termosifoni. Casa pulita con letti comodi ma senza armadio o mensole per appoggio.
Bagno: spazioso e con doccia molto grande in quanto la nostra ( casa n. 1 As) usufruibile anche da persone disabili.
Cucina: utensili di prima necessità e piastra ad induzione portatile con solo un fuoco- non sono presenti alimenti di prima necessità: Olio, sale, zucchero ecc.
Altro: Parcheggio presente in struttura. Posizione molto tranquilla con vista gradevole.

Great location. 15 minutes by car to supermarkets. Excellent views from the windows.
New and user friendly equipments. A self sufficient cottage.
The only part to improve is that maybe the room can be cleaned on a daily basis in the future.
We have stayed for three nights but no room cleaning or towel changing during our stay there.

Overall, I’ll still recommend this place!

El sitio está a 15 mins del pueblo, en plena naturaleza y tranquilidad. El apartamento está completamente equipado y todo es muy nuevo. Te dejan cade y te de cortesía y también hay sal, pimienta y lo que creo que era aceite. El baño tiene suelo radiante. Nos pasó que había temporal cuando teníamos que ir y nos asustamos mucho porque llegando al hotel casi no había carretera, llamamos al hotel que nos respondieron muy rápido y nos ofrecieron ayuda, lo que nos tranquilizó mucho, además a la mañana siguiente ellos limpian el camino hasta el hotel. La noche nos costó sobre 135 euros

A mio avviso è una delle Guesthouse migliori in Islanda. Posizione ottima per vedere l’aurora, paesaggio mozzafiato e pulizia impeccabile. La camera si presenta molto ampia, con angolo cottura dotato di tutto il necessario, letti comodi e bagno ampio e pulito.
