This is an awesome place! We sat in the hot tub staring at the mountain tops as the sun went down. Truly a memorable experience.

We (3 of us) stayed in one of the little cottages when it started raining on our camping trip. The host was able to take our reservation on super short (30 min) notice and was incredibly accommodating. He also runs the local cafe which is also excellent.

Highly recommend staying here -- we will return next time we're in Iceland!

Amazing place to stay. Hot tub and sauna were perfect after a long day, room was comfortable and well situated, and the host was the nicest person we met in iceland (which was fu of nice people). Worth going to Dalvik for the stay even if it's out of the way.

Sehr tolle Unterkunft, großartige Einrichtung, sehr nette und gastfreundliche Vermieter, die ein ganz besonderes Lokal führen und wirklich die beste Fischsuppe machen. Würde sehr gerne wieder kommen!

This was the perfect stay! My husband and I stayed for 2 nights during our honeymoon in one of the cottages and it was our favorite place by far during our whole 3 week trip. The room is adorable and cozy and had everything we needed to make ourselves breakfast in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and a double (not 2 twins which we’ve mostly experienced traveling on a budget in Iceland… pretty funny on your honeymoon!). The hot tub outside next to the outdoor shower and barrel sauna was SUCH a treat, perfectly hot and so welcome after a freezing cold/wet day ferrying out to Grímsey island. And the value for the room is amazing, and not just by Iceland standards!

More than anything though the host Bjarni is just about the nicest human we’ve ever met. He was so accommodating and generous from the second we booked the room months before our trip until when we arrived in Dalvík. It felt like he was catering to us personally which we know can’t be true because he also manages a 40 bed hostel down the road AND runs the little cafe in town! He showed us around his cafe the morning we left and it’s super charming with tons of history, we wish we could have stayed and enjoyed some of his famous fish soup. We loved listening to his stories about the characters he’s had at the cafe (True Detective filmed their 4th season there!). And it sounds like the “eat free fish” festival in August is quite the event!

Also want to give a shout out to Dalvík in general, super charming little seaside town and a great break from the hustle and bustle of the ring road. It’s well worth the detour, check out the beer bath (Drink beer while bathing in beer?! Hell yeah) and be sure to make it out to Grímsey to see just an unbelievable amount of birds and a really interesting tiny island community.

10/10 all around, we will absolutely be back!

Estuvimos 3 noches.
Las cabañas son pequeñas, tiene un mini baño sin ducha, sin grandes lujos pero todo lo que necesitas. Además con una decoración pintoresca.
Esta justo a la entrada del pueblo con unas bonitas vistas y jardín, jacuzzi y sauna y barbacoa.
El dueño es súper simpático y hace que tu estancia sea lo más cómoda posible, pues te ayuda en todo lo que pueda

A cottage in a lovely place , with a little kitchen and a toilet. There isn't a shower, but you can easily use the one in the near hostel .|The owner is kind and friendly. He let us check in a little before .|He let us go to the near swimming pool with sauna for free.|There is silence in the area and you can relax, having a bath in the little hot tub. I suggest it
