Geggjuð ferð með rib bát á föstudagsmorgni. Sáum hvali og skemmtum okkur konunglega.

Amazing experience, a must go when in the area. The Konsull boat is relatively small, but having a closed area to stay warm while navigating the fjord and enjoy an hot chocolate. Then, “piloted” by the indications of the crew, the watching starts. We were pretty lucky since we could see a group of 5 humpback whales going surface and deep dive 5-6 times. Amazing. Booking is recommended in high season. We did it even in early jan, but many free places were available. Important: the boat is fully equipped with appropriate clothing needed for the low temp (sizes from S to XL), so the excursion can be taken also without having an heavy equipment. Use of the equipment is included in the ticket. At the end of the excursion the photos taken by the crew are then published for the participants.
All in all: highly recommended.

Whale Watching da fare assolutamente. Vi porteranno in mezzo al fiordo e potrete ammirare le balene. Se andate col gommone avete la possibilità di vederle da molto vicino.
Guida molto simpatica e brava che spiegava un po' tutto sulle balene. In totale dura circa 2 ore e mezzo-3. Copritevi bene che può tirare molto vento, anche se comunque in barca troverete tutto il necessario per coprirsi se volete.

Bring binoculars! They enhance the experience 100x.
We were very dissapointed by only discovering whale watching so late. The boat tour we were on was phenomenal. It lasted 2,5 hours harbor to harbor and we saw a few humpback whales, a minke and plenty of harbour porpoises.
Our guide was engaging and informative. We made use of company provided overalls which kept us very warm and dry during the tour.
We got decently close to animals, but bringing binoculars definitely enhanced our experience.
I only wish the tour lasted a full day. 🙂 Very highly recommended!

My friends and I took part in the traditional whale watching tour and we absolutely loved it.

The tour and whale watching is very respectful of the wildlife and the guides shared interesting information about the mesmerizing animals in the fjords. The views from the ship are magical and the crowd is mindful of everyone aboard wanting to see the wildlife.

It was amazing being able to see the whales this close up and we really appreciated the ship accommodations. Kudos to the team for the amazing job!

PS: Make sure to wear warm and comfortable clothes as the northern winds can be severe when sailing.

I can’t believe I forgot to post a review about this whale watching experience, because it was quite literally one of the top 10 most amazing days I’ve had in my entire! We went whale watching on May 12, 2024 and had the absolute pleasure of watching a female humpback whale feeding for around an entire hour! She was the only whale we saw, but we were incredibly lucky that she came up about every 60 seconds right next to our boat and put on an amazing show for us. If you’re wondering whether or not to book a tour - you MUST! It was absolutely unforgettable!
