We parkeerden op de parking en betaalden 10 euro. We zijn om 10 uur naar deze plek gegaan en waren helemaal alleen. Vanuit daar liepen we 15 minuten naar de hot spring. In het water zitten was heel aangenaam. Het was heel koud en het waaide heel hard, hierdoor was het omkleden pijnlijk. Moest er een hutje bij de hot spring staan, zou dit aangenamer zijn (in de winter). Al bij al was het een avontuur! :)) De waterval was heel mooi!

Amazing. So thankful the owner allows access to this beautiful waterfall.

Cascading waterfall with many viewpoints. You can safely get really close to the waterfall, too. So glad we made the pitstop.

Only regret is not trying out the hot pool.

Hopefully karma will get the people who choose not to pay for the parking on private land.

Sehr schöner Ort! Wasserfall ist wunderschön, das beste aber ist der Hotpot. Er ist nicht sehr heiß, liegt aber total malerisch direkt neben dem Fluß und ist groß genug für bis zu ca. 6 Personen. Manchmal muss man dafür etwas anstehen.

Posto molto bello, ma la piccola piscina di acqua calda d’inverno non è così calda. Fare l’esperienza a Febbraio è stato critico, fuori dall’acqua vento e freddo e l’acqua è tiepida, a parte in un punto in cui era effettivamente più calda. Penso sia un’esperienza da fare in estate, a meno che l’obiettivo non sia morire di freddo 🙂

Definitely a hidden gem near Varmahlíð with beautiful scenery. We enjoyed the short 20 minute walk through the farm area and having the cows stare at us as we were hiking to the falls. Be careful of all the poop on the ground while you are walking. There were bathrooms located in the horse ranch parking area and you had to pay for parking which was 1500 ISK and you would leave it in an honesty box, but well worth the cost of visiting the falls.

There is a small thermal fosslaug/ hot springs if you are interested in using it, but we didn’t visit it because there was no where to change other than the parking lot before our hike.

We enjoyed this stop and we would recommend to stop here to enjoy all the many viewpoints and all of the surrounding beauty.

Beautiful waterfall and cute hot spring. When you walk up the trail you get a little excited and want to go to the gate on the right that says to please close it behind you because there are horses. While that looks promising, do not go in there! you will be dodging horse poo trying to find a trail that doesn't exist. Instead, continue on to the gate with the blue sign, where the path is much easier to follow. You must pass the waterfall and cross the little bridge to get to the hot spring, which is a small pool across from a white hut on the other side of the river. We visited on April 21 and the river water was a bit high, so I think it made the hotspring feel much cooler than what other reviews indicated. there was a little puddle with bubbles that was pretty hot, so I'm sure it is typically warmer at other times. I'm willing to bet it gets much busier too, as we were the only car here.
