We stayed in late July for two nights, and found it charming, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and Jona Margaret was a wonderful host. She was very understanding when we arrived late at night, and she was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The house is a great choice for those looking to stay near, but not in, Reykjavik. Having a rental car was helpful. But be sure to get a map (or GPS) from the airport, because the Google directions were incorrect. Bathrooms are shared, but clean, bright and convenient.

Quick review. We stayed there two nights one week apart.||||It is all right. It could be cleaner. The owner is laid back and friendly. Rooms are big enough. Bed is comfortable enough. The kitchen is small but functional. ||||I've seen much better in Iceland. Fitjar Guesthouse comes to mind in the same area (it's awesome).||But hey, it was all right.

We stayed here with 2 adults and one child for 1 night beginning of August 2013. We shared one room.||The guesthouse is easy reachable by car and quite close to Reyk. ||Jona is an excellent host. We hadn't enjoyed such a great breakfast in a guesthouse ever before! So many choices and great pancakes. The sleeping room and the bathroom were clean and cosy. There were fine paintings made by the host in every room. We didn´t use the kitchen, but it looked well-equipped. ||There was 1 glitch: the documentation said that there was a hot tub, but it was broken. ||We highly recommend this place.

Ideal place to stay if you're looking for a simple, low-cost, clean and comfortable place near Reykjavik. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip round route 1, and stayed again at the end of our trip as it was an ideal location to get to the airport the next day. The owner Jona made us feel very welcome, and also gave us recommendations for the area. We had a lovely clean room, comfortable bed and good kitchen facilities. Would recommend.

Upon arriving at this guesthouse after a week of traveling through Iceland, we were a bit hesitant because the wall around the gueshouse is in need of repair, and the place has a somewhat spooky look. We had the house all to ourselves, so no one else was there upon our arrival, which added to the feeling that maybe we were in the wrong place. HOWEVER, once inside, the rooms are typical of all the other Farm Guesthouses we had stayed at: clean and more than adequate. Jona was pleased to share the history of the place, to show us her prize Icelandic pony stallion and the free range chickens that are being raised on the farm (no noise from these, it is completely quiet).

stayed here for 4 nights. the guesthouse is outside Reyk, about 15min drive, but in a strategic position for trips to the GC and the south. everything was clean. the kitchen is well equiped and we cooked some of our meals there. the owner is very friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. i give 4 out of 5 because there isn't a choice of a double bed size, just single beds joined to each other. would definitely stay there again.

We were in Gunnarsholmi Ghesthouse last week for three days and we really enjoyed our stay.||We were lucky enough to have the entire house to ourselves and Jona let us pick whichever room we wanted. We stayed upstair near the living room. It was really nice, warm and so comfy, very comforting after long days trekking in the cold !||We had breakfast on the first day and it was amazing ! Jona made great effort to provide the best breakfast, I'm sure she was up early to prepare such a feast. she cooked pancakes, we had nice smoked salmon, herring, toast, ham, fruits, yogurt, everything and anything you like !||Perfect start of the day to go out in the cold.||Jona told us that one of her son does glacier tours as well which can be really interesting and handy if that's what you'd like to do !||Jona is so laid-back and friendly, she'll make your stay nice and easy !||I highly recommend this guesthouse.
