The location is definitely the best part about this hostel. A nice walk from the water and the little town. Check in was pretty confusing for us. Unless I missed a message from them, we had to ask other guests how to check in. They let us know to go to the hotel down the street. The room was a little small but it was doable for one night. And we did somehow manage to lock ourselves into the building once and then lock ourselves out twice. Luckily there were other guests in the living area to help us out.

We’ve arrived to Djúpivogur late in the evening and we’ve told we could have used the kitchen only if we would have left it cleaner than it was. It sounded like a threat and we ended up eating sandwiches without cooking. This perfectionism seemed a good premise to a presumably super clean and equipped structure but the first doubt came when one bathroom out of three was not provided with hygienic paper (or maybe it had been, but it was already finished and we couldn’t find if spare rolls were available). We were a huge group, so it’s been quite a problem to have only two toilets left.|The definitive proof that something was wrong were the disgusting blood stains I found on my bed sheets. After the initial shock, I decided to sleep on the duvet, inside the sleeping bag I had fortunately brought with me.

Zona comune molto ampia con divani, tavoli e sedie, cucina grande, pulita e ben fornita.
Molto male i bagni e le docce: soltanto tre per 40 persone. Letti a castello con biancheria pulita, stanza abbastanza ampia e pulita

Besser als manches Guesthouse oder Hotel in Island. Geräumiger chilliger Gemeinschaftsbereich. Zimmer soweit in Ordnung. Preisleistung passt besser als anderswo.

Kunnon keittiö jossa 3 uunia ja monipuoliset keittiötarvikkeet. Todella tukevat sängyt memorifoam patjoilla. Yhteiset vessat joissa suihkut. Pyyhkeet ja käsipyyhkeet vaihdetaan päivittäin. Vieressä uimala jossa 36 ja 42 asteen poreammeet. Ihastuttava kaupunki ja ihanat ihmiset kun heihin tutustuu. Patikointi reittejä ympäri rantaa. Henkilökunnan majoitus toisella puolella taloa.
