Very positive experience overall. Brand new Land Cruiser which was perfect for the ring road in winter, especially for the windy days. Only issue we had was the brush and ice scraper weren't in the car so we had to buy one ourselves. When we returned the car they were very apologetic and refunded us when we showed the receipt.

We had a great experience with Hertz Downtown. Friendly and helpful staff, the vehicle was quite new. Drop box at the side of the office made avoiding the rental que easy. Definitely recommend using the full insurance for Iceland roads. They are unforgiving and very easy to get damage. Thanks Hertz crew.

連一顆星都不值得。我是這個月7月底來冰島18天的。想說找大間一點的租車行準沒錯。但我錯了!!千萬不要來租這一間的車,如果你不信,那你也要多參考評論。我之前也有看了評論,覺得我應該不會那麼ㄙㄨㄟ吧!!結果還真的學到經驗了(謝謝google評論,真的很準)文長,請耐心閱讀!
當時在開1號公路時,開車開到一半時,突然有異音,回去這間租車公司告知底盤下面有異音,他只是去稍微看一下,業務就跟我說我要賠償底盤下的塑膠片,蝦米?都沒有確認原因,就這樣跟我說。然後我就跟他說,我認為是螺絲沒鎖緊造成塑膠片脫落的,他就請我稍等5分鐘,他要做詳細的檢查,再跟我報告,他把車子開去旁邊的維修單位,汽車升上去時,我趕緊過去看車子的狀況,見到底盤下面螺絲至少缺3顆,然後底盤下面塑膠墊因此而脫落,而公司業務和技術人員竟然告訴我,全部是我的問題???我要賠償他們將近台幣1萬元,我又不是盤子,就這麼明顯,很多螺絲都不見了,這樣還要算我的?(真的很抱歉,一開始租車時,應該要對這台車的底盤先錄影存證,因為我只有錄影到車的外觀而已。)人在國外,不付錢了事,爭吵絕對解決不了事情。事後想想,還是要把真實的事寫下來,不希望接下來,還有我們台灣人受害。還有,我還有保他們公司的全險喔!還是要賠將近台幣一萬元喔!!這間公司絕對不推薦,也不會在這間租車公司租車了,我一定會選擇其他租車公司。但你們要小心,他似乎還有另外2間公司(F和E開頭)。

Is there a way to share zero stars?
My husband went to pick up our rental car after scheduling an appointment. When he arrived, there was no one there. He tried calling Hertz, was put on hold and then they hung up on him. He finally got a hold of someone over the phone who told him to come back tomorrow
This is our first time in this city, he had to walk by foot to the location. We paid hundreds of dollars for this rental, and paid for it to start today.
I’m extremely disappointed in Hertz. We would like our rental to be heavily discounted after this experience

The car is nice. At first the service is also ok. But these guys charged us extra money. And we noticed that during the vacation. After the trip we came back and asked them about this. The guy is impatient and he only start to check the record of pos machine after I tell him a lot of times about what happened. I don’t know what is wrong with them.

We rented a Golf for 2 days from the down town facility. When returning it the fuel door wouldn't open, probably due to a central locking issue. We returned the car after hours so I explained it all in an email offering to pay for the fuel, but due to this malfunction and a key battery failure they didn't charge me at all. Excellent customer service!

Quick pick up, 50€ for an additional driver seemed ok.
Drop off was also very quick with good service and a quick confirmation.

Badest service ever!

First the collect/than the return:
When we picked up the vehicle, everything seemed to be going well. When we walked alone to the vehicle, we noticed that the specified quirks were not fully documented. When we went back and asked for a huge scratch on the back left of the rear, please write a record, the employee was a bit snippy and then he would have to record everything again. We asked him to do this anyway. He didn't show us the second protocol, but we assumed that it was correct. For our safety we took pictures ourselves.

The return:
the opening times were from 5:30 in the morning. unfortunately there was no employee on site. There were about 10 people waiting who wanted to return their rental car and had the same information as we did, that you have to hand in the key at the counter where you had received it. the lady next door from europcar and the airport information office had no idea why there was no employee on site. when we called the hertz head office and described what was going on here, the lady just said that unfortunately she couldn't do anything about it and hung up. we almost missed the flight because of hertz and will never book here again! Definitely not recommended and next time another provider.
